WHY ALOETTE?

Every Aloette consultant has a story. Some join for a discount on their favorite products, some join for extra income, and some join for the lifestyle Aloette provides. Aloette South would like to introduce you to Executive Beauty Consultant, Stacy Repp. Stacy lives in Arkansas and has been a beauty consultant for Aloette for 33 years. WOW!!!

Why Aloette, Stacy?

Aloette South: When did you join Aloette?

Stacy: July 1987.

Aloette South: Why did you join?

Stacy: I was a hotel reservationists at a very elite Dallas Hotel. I was told I had job security since I brought the guest in. I went to work one morning and was told three of the top executives of the company wanted to see me in their office. They informed me that the hotel was going bankrupt. They gave me a 6 month severance package and asked me to pack up my office. I didn’t see it coming. That weekend a friend invited me to her Aloette party. At the time a model was chosen to sit in front of everyone and have their skincare and makeup done. I was the model for the night. The President of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Aloette Franchise did the show that night. She offered me the Aloette Opportunity. I had no self confidence to be called a “Beauty Consultant.” Carol and my friends cheered me on and said I would be good at it. I knew I needed a job. So Carol encouraged me to just do the 4 shows and earn my kit free and give it a chance. I’ve been here ever since.

Aloette South:Are you married?

Stacy: I have been married to my husband Van for 35 years. We couldn’t have children. Eighteen years after we were married we were blessed with adopting a newborn baby. Our son Jacob is now 17 years old.

Aloette South: That’s amazing!

Aloette South:Do you have another job other than Aloette?

Stacy: I wear many hats during the day. I home school my son with a Virtual Academy. I am on a teachers schedule all year. My husband and I own ICU Window Cleaning Systems. I am the Office Manager and Book Keeper for the company. I also do volunteer ministry work several hours a month.

What is one of your favorite moments in your Aloette career?

Stacy: Six years ago I was crowned Queen of Sales and Queen of Recruiting for Aloette of Arkansas in Nashville at Conference.

Aloette South: What is your favorite product? Why is it your favorite?

Stacy: Choosing one product for me is tough. I tell people at my shows if we were going to make Chocolate Cake and left out the flour and Cocoa we would just have a hot mess. A girl leaving anything out of her Aloette routine is just a hot mess. I use the Enzyme Peel, and Platinum Skin Care. I mix in a little bit of Aloepure, Essential Cleaning Oil, Maximum Moisture Complex, and Eye Witness. I formerly was a Pre-School Teacher required to keep a first aid kit. I kept Nutri-Hydrating Mist in the first aide kit. My students renamed Nutri-Hydrating Mist to Mrs. Repp’s Boo Boo spray. My customers still call and ask for Mrs. Repp’s Boo Boo Spray. So that has fondly become a favorite of mine, my students, clients and family.

Aloette South: How do you find time to work your business right now?

Stacy: Every morning I wake up and start my day with a to do list. As part of my morning routine I offer a tip, sale, or contest on my VIP page. Each month I send out a monthly newsletter to all of my clients on the first of the month. I keep my calendar in front of me at all times with highlighted days that I choose to work. I love that I have the flexibility that Aloette offers.

Aloette South: What is next for you personally?

Stacy: My home is a Farmhouse that is nearly 100 years old. We could use some improvements. Once it is safe to do so I want to take my son on a trip of his choice

Aloette South: That’s awesome! You got this!

Have suitcase, will travel!

PACKING LIKE A PRO!

Okay so you are getting ready to head out of town, but what to pack? Aloette ladies know how to pack. There is nothing worse than lugging around an overpacked suitcase for a 2-day adventure or under packing for a weeklong trip. No worries, we have you covered. Before packing here are a couple key questions you must ask yourself before you grab your suitcase.

  1. Where are you going?
  2. How long will you be gone?
  3. What does your itinerary look like?
At some-point, we’ve all sat on a suitcase.

So, let’s ‘unpack’ each of these questions. See what I did there? We know that was corny, but you laughed. Where are you going? You do not want to pack stilettos for a rugged trip to the mountains/beach, right? Also, it is important to use your weather app and check the temperature for the area you are traveling. A few years back Aloette went to BANFF in Canada. Truly one of the coolest trips. I remember packing my suitcase with cute summer dresses and outfits because we were traveling in July. The night before we left a friend of mine checked the weather in Banff. I was going to FREEZE at night. I quickly emptied my suitcase and packed laying clothes and a heavy jacket. I swapped my strappy sandals for closed in shoes.  I had the BEST TIME because I was prepared when I arrived.

Always pack 2-3 EXTRA outfits.  Things happen. Coffee spills…sometimes wine happens. Don’t forget to pack an extra outfit or two for mishaps.  If your trip is more than 4 days, you might need to pack a carry-on or weekender bag along with your medium-large suitcase. Take advantage of your bonus bag. Pack your jammers and an extra outfit. If you are flying, you will be happy you have an overnight bag on your trip. These come in handy if you have any adventures such as luggage misplacement or a little extra airport time. Things happen, it’s all part of the adventure.

Map out your attire based on your itinerary. Print it out, write your outfit ideas beside each activity. Once you map out your outfits you can effectively pack and plan for an organized trip. Place your itinerary on top of your clothes before you close your suitcase. You will need the itinerary for your tip and now it has your outfits planned out and ready to tackle the day.  Shoes take up so much space in my suitcase and they are heavy. I like to look at my outfits and see how many I can pair with 2-3 pairs of shoes.

Bonus packing must-haves are slippers, lighted mirror, and a blanket.  Slippers are great when you need to walk around your hotel room. Lighted mirrors are MUST-HAVES because most hotels do not have great lighting.  Yes, your hotel room has bedding, but sometimes you just need a travel blankly.

SUCCESS!

I hope this helps your next trip go smoothly.  Aloette will be traveling ABROAD to Ireland this year so stay tuned for TRAVEL TIPS FROM ACROSS THE POND.

More than a side hustle.

Are you looking at getting a second or third job in 2020? A new ‘side hustle’. We hear you! The cost of living is higher than the days of our parents and grandparents. Have you tried direct sales? You have. Oh, sister give it one more try. So many things factor into direct sales success. You might be in a different place now than when you first tried direct sales. Don’t miss an opportunity out of fear of failure. Now that I have said that let’s look at what you need workout before you begin your business.

Grab a notebook.  You will need to jot down a few things down. First, write what your goal is. Are you feeling overwhelmed with debt? Look at your debt and see what needs immediate attention. Pay attention to interest rates and deadlines. Oh, those credit cards can get ya, but have no fear! How about a new purse? Print a picture out of that fabulous purse and put it on your fridge! Family Vacation? Plan it out!

Next step, write down everything that can/will get in your way. Then with a bright color pen, write how you will counter each of the things on your list. That’s right! NOTHING IS GOING TO GET IN YOUR WAY! You have a goal and a plan.

Have a little fun while you are earning extra income.

In Aloette, home shows are the most consistent way to earn serious income.  What is a home show? A home show is a party where a host invites you and friends over to learn about skincare and makeup.  Consultants make a commission from the total retail value sold. You can sell a little and make a little, or you can sell a lot and get a bigger check.  Successful parties do not just happen. It isn’t luck. Successful parties are a product of thoughtful planning and hostess coaching.

Aloette’s hostess benefits are generous and great. Who wouldn’t want to host a party?

Do you have to be a “show consultant” to be an active consultant? Not at all! Though it is a lot of FUN! Aloette offers a ‘Friends and Family Discount’ kit called My Aloette.  This kit gives you the perks of being a consultant without the doing shows.  Aloette’s ‘My Aloette Kit’ lets consultants make purchases for themselves through their personal consultant portal as well as make commissionable customer orders.  My Aloette consultants can still hold home shows and virtual shows through social media platforms such as Facebook. The main difference in the two Aloette consultant kits is the amount of product provided. If you have questions about these kits, please reach out to your consultant or us at aloette.market@yahoo.com

Say Yes!

Hello Blog World! We at Aloette South would like to share a story that is near and dear to our heart. This is the story of a fierce woman who bravely said, “Yes!”, to an opportunity over 15 years ago. This opportunity provided for her family as well as her community.

Like what you read? Share a comment. Want to see more? Follow us.

I will say yes to all good things that come my way.

Saying YES to a New

15 years ago, at 22 years old, I was working in a snowball stand. If you’re from anywhere other than the south, think Sno-Cone. It was my snowball stand, but a snowball stand just the same. Having already been married for two years, and having walked out of a “good” job that kept me in a constant state of anxiety, I had opened the stand to make a little money before I could figure out my next move career-wise.

See, I had never really had any huge career aspirations growing up. My friends all wanted to be doctors and teachers and nurses and whatnot, but I honestly cannot recall every having a solid vision on my future. So, there I sat selling sugar and ice for $1.25 in my little stand at the end of Locust Street near Highway 98.

One afternoon after working all day, I ran home, washed the sugar syrup off myself and attended a party at a friend’s house. It was one of those gather in the living room and pass around lipsticks and lotions parties. I went intent on purchasing a lip gloss with the cash I had earned that day, eating some snacks, and heading home. God had other plans. When I left that party that evening, I had filled out a little yellow sheet of paper and signed up to become and Aloette Beauty Consultant. I was mesmerized by the fast talking, funny, and very pregnant sales lady and she was emphatic that she needed help on her sales team with the new baby coming along. She nodded yes at me, I mirrored her nod, and wham bam thank ya ma’am I had a new gig.

For the next eight years, I was one of the top sales consultants in the number one franchise of my company in the United States. I earned incentives trips and a company car but most importantly through saying yes on a whim that night at that party I earned more than enough income to be able to live comfortably while growing our family and building a new home. Everything was great until it wasn’t.

One day several years into my career I got a phone call from the president of our company telling me that the franchise and warehouse I worked for was closed, effective immediately. Long story short, I went to bed with job security and woke up with a choice; find a new way to make money or purchase the territory formerly occupied by the closed franchise. I would become the leader of not only my personal sales team but everyone in the region as well as opening a shipping facility, hiring employees, and making the switch from being an independent consultant to a full-fledged business owner. Me! The girl from the snowball stand that went to a makeup party on a whim.

I wish I could say I said yes immediately. Wouldn’t that be cool? If I said yes with no hesitation. That’s not the case, though. Instead I said no. Repeatedly, for about 3-4 months. I said no, but I will help. So, I started holding local trainings for displaced beauty consultants. I gave the corporate headquarters my cell phone number to give out to customers who needed help. I ran my beauty consultant business still as well as doing all of the customer service and leadership responsibilities of a franchise president until one day I was like “Duh, Mindy. You’re doing the job. Say yes to the opportunity.”

Sitting in my office today after 7 years as the president of not one but now two Aloette Cosmetics franchises, I’m reflecting on all the times I could have said no, and where my life would be as a result. It wouldn’t be here, working across the driveway from my house in my very own warehouse affectionately known as the “Beauty Barn.”  We aren’t the number one franchise in the United States, yet, but we are well in our way. Saying yes meant building a warehouse, running a shipping facility, hiring employees and a full-time job for my husband as well. It was a pretty good yes.

I make it a habit to say yes more now. Yes can be scary, but no can be tragic. I’d rather look back and say “I tried” than to look back with regret.

Repeat after me, “I will say yes to all things that come my way.”

MEET ME IN IRELAND

Just a small-town girl traveling the world.

7 years ago, I picked up my kit and decided I would hold 4 home shows and see where God would lead me. I was a lost twenty-something that could not quite figure out what I wanted to be “when I grew up”. I had a few ups and downs my first few months of business, but I had an amazing team leader, now president, who believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. I remember the first trip I missed. It was a Mediterranean Cruise; I didn’t realize I wanted to go until I missed it.  The second trip I missed really hurt deep down.  I work for this trip, but somewhere along the way my vision became a tad bit cloudy and you guessed it……I MISSED A CRUISE…. TO HAWAII. Let’s all let that sink in.  I decided I was not letting that happen again.  I started working with my now president, Mindy Boyd, to decide what I needed to work on. GAME CHANGER! I have not missed a single trip since.

Everyone has a bucket list vacation spot or several, for me, it was IRELAND.  Growing up my grandmother told me stories about how some of my family immigrated from Ireland and so began my obsession.  I thought it was the coolest thing.  I loved to look at pictures, and a part of me thought I would only get to explore this country through books and pictures.  I have been very blessed to be able to travel around the world with Aloette over the last 7 years. When Aloette announced our 2020 consultant vacation to IRELAND, I could NOT contain my excitement!!! This is truly a dream trip! My dream, and maybe yours.  I will have my trip wrapped up next month, but these trips are always more fun in groups.  Can you see yourself exploring Dublin, Ireland? Contact your consultant to find out how to claim your spot.  Don’t have a consultant? Click over to contact and reach out. You do not want to miss this trip.
